How do I get my site listed in
MoneyWeb?
To get a listing, you must have a web page or site. Once you have a URL (address) for your site, you should check to make sure that
it's not already listed. The easiest way to check is to search
for the URL that you want to add. If we don't have it, you can add it here.
-
What does the "@" symbol at the end of a
link mean?
The "@" symbol that appears at the end of a category means that this heading
is listed in multiple places within the MoneyWeb hierarchy. Clicking on
the heading will take you to the primary location in the hierarchy for that
heading.
- How are links gathered for the MoneyWeb
database?
There are two ways that links are gathered. Firstly, our visitors suggest sites by clicking on
the "Add Your Site"
function in the top control panel. At the present time, suggestions make up
most of our entries, however we also "spider" the Web looking for new
or notable sites and resources. Once found, these sites are
reviewed by our Content Team to make sure they are suitable to be
added to the Directory.
-
What kinds of errors should be reported to MoneyWeb?
Please report errors to us
if a listing has moved or disappeared, if permission is denied,
or if we have made errors in the title, description, URL, or classification of the link.
Please don't report errors on sites that are not part of
MoneyWeb. These errors should be reported to the webmaster of that particular
site.
-
What should I do if I click on a link and get 'Permission Denied', or
'File not found'?
When you follow a link, you can get errors for several reasons.
The site may be busy or temporarily down. This is not uncommon,
especially on sites with very heavy traffic such as www.microsoft.com.
Alternatively, the site may be private or for members only. You may need to
join or pay a fee to get access.
Of
course, it's possible that you're getting an error because the site doesn't
exist any more. If you think this is the
case, please let us know and we'll
remove it from our Directory.
-
Why can't I read Usenet newsgroups on
MoneyWeb?
When you follow news links such as news:alt.invest, in MoneyWeb, you
need access to a local news (NNTP) server. If you're getting error messages such as
"cannot talk" or "cannot locate host," you probably don't have your
news server configured properly in your browser options. Check your
browser's help file or ask your internet service provider or systems administrator.
